Why the Rubicon Is a Great Build Platform

The Rubicon 500 is built for technical terrain — serious low-end torque, a capable chassis, and a manual transmission that gives you full control through the rough stuff. That makes it a natural candidate for a snorkel kit, since riders tend to push it into water and mud where that control really matters.

Add in the Rubicon's solid frame geometry and you've got a great foundation for mounting accessories cleanly without fabrication.

Upgrade #1: Snorkel Kit

If you're taking your Rubicon through water crossings, a snorkel is the single most important protective upgrade you can make. It relocates your air intake high above the waterline, protecting your engine from hydrolocking — which is an expensive and avoidable failure.

Side Snorkel Kit — Starting at $245

Our side snorkel kit is a complete package — everything you need for the install is included: all pipe for the run, a brace, airbox sealant, dielectric grease, and vents with tees. You'll just need to supply your own pipe glue.

Available in three pipe heights (12", 18", 24") with options for brace and vent inclusion:

• 12" / With brace / With vents — $285

The 18" height is the most popular choice for riders who want clearance for most water crossings without the pipe being overly tall. Go 24" if you're running serious deep-water terrain.

Snorkel Brace — $45

If you're ordering the snorkel kit without the brace included, or want an additional brace for extra rigidity, the standalone snorkel brace fits 2014–2025 Honda 420/500/520 models. Available in Center and Side configurations at $45 each. May require slight modification to line up perfectly with your snorkel routing.

Upgrade #2: LED Headlights

The Rubicon's stock halogen headlights have the same shortcomings as every other Honda ATV in the lineup — dim output, narrow beam, and no color options. The 7" LED upgrade is a direct bolt-up replacement for the 2015–Present Rubicon with zero wiring modifications.
